Shane Landreville, LLM, TEP

Biography

Shane practices in estates, tax, and corporate and commercial law. He works with individuals, families, and business owners on wills, trusts, business structures, and transactions, but the focus is never just on the paperwork; it is on making the process understandable, keeping things straightforward, and building a plan that fits the way people actually live and run their businesses.

A big part of Shane’s practice is also working with farms and agricultural businesses. He advises on how to structure farm operations and land and business ownership, and how to think through the tax consequences that show up at different stages of a farm’s lifecycle. Much of this work involves succession planning, where land, business operations, and relationships are all tied together and need to be handled with some care and common sense.

He regularly advises on business structuring, growth, and transitions, drawing on both his legal and tax background and his experience as a business owner. Shane knows most decisions don’t happen at the perfect time; they come up when things are busy, cash flow is tight, or an opportunity shows up out of nowhere. His approach is to understand what someone is building, where things feel uncertain, and then put structure in place that supports the business instead of slowing it down. He takes a similar approach to estate planning, starting with people rather than documents. By understanding what matters, what concerns someone, and what a good outcome looks like, he builds plans that feel practical, clear, and a lot less intimidating than most people expect.

Clients can expect conversations that feel more like a discussion than a lecture. Shane takes the time to understand what people are trying to achieve, whether that is keeping a recreational property in the family, acquiring a new business, or just getting organized so things are easier down the road. The goal is to make the process feel manageable, and maybe even a bit enjoyable along the way.

He holds a Master of Laws and is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP). Outside of the office, Shane is actively involved in the agricultural community and regularly speaks and writes on business planning, succession, and the long-term sustainability of agricultural enterprises. When he is not working, he is usually working on his own farm, skiing or spending time outside with his two dogs.
