Biography
Nicholas Buttler Speers is a litigation associate in the Nanaimo office of Ramsay Lampman Rhodes. He has assisted businesses and individuals with a wide range of litigation matters, including employment contracts, human rights claims, commercial contract disputes, construction issues, and judgement enforcement. Nicholas has appeared before both the British Columbia Provincial Court and British Columbia Supreme Court.
When a dispute arises, Nicholas emphasizes pragmatic and cost-effective solutions. He is committed to breaking down complex legal concepts and providing clear, tailored advice that reflects each client’s goals. His dedication to client service ensures that clients are well-informed and supported at every stage of the litigation process.
Nicholas graduated from the Juris Doctor program at the University of Alberta. During his legal studies, he volunteered with Student Legal Services as a caseworker on their criminal law project serving Edmonton’s low-income community. He was also awarded the Edward E. Bishop Prize in Securities Law in recognition of his academic achievement in that course. After graduation, Nicholas completed his articles with a full-service firm in the Fraser Valley before being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2025.
When he’s not at the office, Nicholas enjoys spending time outdoors paddling on the water.
