Brandon Bonnetplume

Biography

Brandon Bonnetplume is an associate in the Nanaimo office of Ramsay Lampman Rhodes. He maintains a broad civil litigation practice, assisting individuals, businesses, and organizations with a wide range of legal matters. Brandon is known for delivering clear, practical advice and advocating for results that are responsive, grounded, and tailored to each client’s specific needs.

Brandon’s approach to legal practice is shaped by a diverse professional background. Before entering law, he worked as a social worker and housing coordinator, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in accessing stable housing and essential services. This experience gave him an understanding of the challenges individuals face when navigating complex systems, as well as the importance of empathy, clear communication, and long-term problem-solving. Prior to that, he worked as a welder, gaining firsthand experience in trades and business environments where precision, efficiency and problem-solving are essential. These experiences continue to shape and inform his legal practice, providing him with a grounded perspective, an appreciation for the day-to-day realities that many of his clients face and the ability to advocate with both compassion and real-world insight.

Born and raised in Nanaimo, Brandon is proud to serve the community he calls home. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria and holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Windsor, where he graduated with distinction. He has been with Ramsay Lampman Rhodes throughout his legal career, joining the firm as a summer student in 2023 and returning the following year to begin his articles, which he completed in 2025. He was called to the British Columbia Bar that same year.

While in law school, Brandon volunteered at the Law Centre legal clinic, assisting clients who could not otherwise afford legal representation. This experience strengthened his ability to communicate clearly, think practically and navigate a wide range of legal issues.

Outside of work, Brandon enjoys golfing, playing chess and basketball, and spending time outdoors on Vancouver Island.
